Second wave of COVID-19: this is how NHAI, contractor left work behind

Second wave of COVID-19: this is how NHAI, contractor left work behind

June 24, 2021

In early April, officials and contractors deliberately brought home the message that in the current pandemic, workers are much better off and safer staying in their labor camps than going to their villages.

To ensure workers had good reason to fall behind despite the challenges of COVID-19, contractors working on National Roads Authority of India (NHAI) projects worked overtime. At the end of April, some 5,000 highway construction workers were infected with the new coronavirus, according to official data. Now that number of workers has been reduced to about 2,000 across all 480 NHAI projects involving the construction of 25,000 kilometers of roads at more than Rs 5 lakh crore, according to an IE report. In early April, officials and contractors deliberately brought home the message that in the current pandemic, workers are much better off and safer staying in their labor camps than going to their villages.

NHAI Chairman SS Sandhu was quoted in the report as saying that road authority contractors and construction companies have learned from last year's experience. Staff are also realizing that if they choose to return to their villages, all these conveniences - such as medical insurance, vaccinations, isolation rooms, food, oxygen-equipped ambulances - may not be so readily available, Sandhu said. Because the government has insisted that vaccines were the only real protection against COVID-19, the NHAI organized around 700 vaccination camps at their workplaces across the country.

Subsequently, about 2,700 beds were made available for Covid-positive workers in isolation rooms installed at the project sites. In addition, ambulances equipped with oxygen were also deployed. NHAI regional offices were activated to coordinate with district administrations and contractors at the project sites. COVID-19 testing also became routine for all contractors. The life insurance coverage of NHAI officials was also increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

Officials had said that since workforce deployment is tailored to the needs of contractors, it is difficult to estimate the exact number of workers deployed across the country on any given day. However, NHAI said that contractors reported only 10-15% fewer workers compared to the end of March this year. According to officials, workers who went to their villages in early April are also being returned by contractors. Sandhu said there is a positive outlook among workers to return to the project workshop and that project contractors are facilitating their safe return.

This is because India's top road developers have learned from last year's closure, when they lost some of their best months due to the road construction pandemic. Despite this, the highway authority had built 4,192 kilometers of national highways in the year 2020-21, the highest number to date. The NHAI, aiming to beat last fiscal year's construction record, has instructed field offices to accelerate road construction whenever possible, as traffic is still low due to road-related restrictions. pandemic, the report adds.

BHARATMALA PARIYOJANA TO FILL THE TRAFFIC OF GOODS AND PASSENGERS

BHARATMALA PARIYOJANA TO FILL THE TRAFFIC OF GOODS AND PASSENGERS

June 20, 2021

A good transport network is one of the fundamental pillars of the development of any country. The construction of new and developed state highways is crucial to connect the areas and maintain a smooth flow of traffic, leading to more economic activities. Bharatmala Pariyojana was conceived by the Honorable Minister of RTH Shri Nitin Gadkari, headed by the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, as a new comprehensive road sector program aimed at optimizing the efficiency of the transportation of cargo and passengers across the country by filling gaps in critical infrastructure through effective interventions. The main objective of the program is to develop and improve roads in a comprehensive manner.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) had approved the implementation of an overall program for the National Roads Sector - Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase - I, covering a period of 5 years (2017-18 to 2021-22). The program includes the development of a total length of 64,374 km. However, Phase I will begin construction of some 24,800 km, in addition to completing 10,000 km of residual National Highway Development Program (NHDP) work. Phase I has an estimated capital expenditure of Rs 535,000 crore including Rs 150,000 crore for the implementation of NHDP residual works.

BHARATMALA PARIYOJANA: EXCELLENT PROPERTIES

• ·        The program focuses on a corridor-based approach rather than a package-based approach
• ·       Improving the efficiency of existing corridors by developing MMLPs and eliminating congestion points
• ·        Focus on improving connectivity in NE and exploiting synergies with inland waterways
• ·        Use of technology and scientific planning for project preparation and asset tracking.
• ·        Phase I will be completed in 2022

Previously, road development was carried out under the National Highway Development Program (NHDP). However, it was later judged that the NHDP had reached a certain level of maturity and that it was important to redefine road development and have a macro approach when planning the expansion of the national road network. Policymakers believed that the focus should be on road development reform by reducing critical infrastructure gaps. Bharatmala was conceptualized in that context. This program aims at a corridor-based approach instead of the existing package-based approach.

Under Pariyojana, the aim is to develop economic corridors, intercorridors and feeder routes, to improve the efficiency of the national corridor, border and international connecting roads, coastal and port connecting roads and Greenfield highways to improve road connectivity. It was decided that the various components of Pariyojana will be implemented by MORTH through executive agencies such as NHAI, NHIDCL and State PWD/RDC through the Ministry's Highway Wing.

Bharatmala Pariyojana foresees the development of economic corridors, which together with the Golden Quadrilateral (GQ) and the North-South and East-West (NS-EW) corridors are expected to carry most of the freight traffic on the roads. In addition, some 8,000 km of intercorridors and some 7,500 km of feeder routes have been identified to improve the efficiency of the economic corridors, the GQ and NS-EW corridors. The program also foresees the development of ring roads and elevated corridors to relieve traffic through cities and improve logistics efficiency. Up to 28 cities have been identified for ring roads, 125 bottlenecks and 66 congestion points for improvement.

Although the Bharatmala Pariyojana was approved by the CCEA cabinet in October 2017, the network identified in the program has been optimized to improve connectivity in key economic centers. Relatively straighter Greenfield alignments have been identified to connect key economic corridors.

BHARATMALA PARIYOJANA: CATEGORIES

• ·        Economic corridor
• ·        Supply route or intermediate passage
• ·        Improving the efficiency of the national corridor
• ·        Border highway and international connectivity
• ·        Port connection and coastal road
• ·        Greenfield Highway
• ·        Balancing NHDP works

To reduce congestion in the proposed corridors, improve logistics efficiency and reduce logistics costs of freight movements, 35 sites have been identified for the development of multimodal logistics parks (MMLP). These MMLPs are being developed on a "Hub and Spoke" model and are being implemented by NHAI and NHIDCL (in Northeast India). The development of these MMLPs is one of Pariyojana's efforts to overcome the logistics deficiencies in India, reduce associated costs and strategically integrate road projects and other connectivity initiatives such as inland waterways, railways, etc. into the load distribution. Ecosystem. The number of MMLPs will be further streamlined with reference to the interested state government's request for additional MMLPs and market demand analysis.

The Ministry is taking all necessary measures to ensure that the Bharatmala projects are implemented quickly. It is expected to give a great boost to the economic activities of the country and thus help to realize the prime minister's dream of "Atmanirbhar Bharat".

HOW IS FUNDING OBTAINED FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

HOW IS FUNDING OBTAINED FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

June 17, 2021

This is the question that all entrepreneurs want an answer to. “How can I raise the capital needed to get my business where I need it?”

We all have dreams and aspirations for our businesses, but for some people that idea cannot be realized due to lack of money. Those lucky enough to start with what little they have soon realize they've gotten more than they bargained for: debt, emergencies, miscellaneous expenses, and expenses they never planned. With this kind of solution, two options are left: declare bankruptcy, close the shop and thus end his dream or seek financing. But where?

The answer to this question will be given shortly and by the time you finish reading this article you will know how to raise funds for your business. then okay?

1. Crowdfunding

You've probably heard this before, in fact I'm sure you have and would, except you have no idea how it works or even how to do it. The truth is, it's super easy! The internet has made it all easier, and today you can crowdfund the internet with websites that are there just for it: to help individuals and businesses get the funding they need for their businesses. Below I have compiled a list of the best. You should check them out and use one of them to raise money for your business:

• Kickstarter.com: It is one of the most popular crowdfunding sites. A lot of people have made their dreams come true by using this platform.
• Gofundme.com: GoFundMe is another crowdfunding platform known for helping bring creative projects to life.
• Other crowdfunding platforms you can make use of areUlule, Gogetfunding, We funder, Crowdfunder UK. You should try out all of theseoptions. They're worth trying out.

2. Apply for a loan

Have you thought about this yet? It is the next easiest way to get financing for your business.

A Small Business Administration (SBA) study found that “75% of startup financing comes from business loans, credit cards, and lines of credit.” This means that while technology is creating new methods of raising capital, most small businesses are still looking for the primary way to finance their operations. You should have one too!

However, in order for your loan to be approved by banks and other financial institutions, it must meet a number of requirements, such as:

• Must have been in business for 2 years or more.
• Your company generates a strong annual income.
• Good credit score.
• Keep your file at hand: profit and loss account, tax returns, bank statements, etc.

PLEASE NOTE, these conditions may differ depending on the institution where you lend money. And if you don't qualify, there are other types of financing you can look for such as equipment financing, invoice financing, etc.

Also, if your business does not meet the requirements, as you can see, getting a loan may not be the option for you; instead, you can crowdfund or choose the other options below.

3. Ask friends and family

This is a bit like crowdfunding, except in this case you know the people from whom you seek help. Raising capital for your business through friends and family remains one of the most viable options. Who else is willing to invest in you and your dreams? The people who care about you!

However, you should be careful in choosing who to ask for help. A content marketer and SBA contributor named Caron Beasley suggests that you limit the list of friends and family you would turn to for help only to people who are confident that you will succeed, who understand your plans, and who are clear about the risks, but also those with strong business skills.

This would help prevent any problems in the future. Also make sure you have a strong direction and a business plan. Trust me, you don't want to go to someone with half an idea.

4. Angel Investors

Angel investors are a reliable source of capital for your business. Typically, angel investors are people who have a net worth of $1 million or who receive an annual income of more than $200,000.

But like I said, you really shouldn't approach anyone, especially angel investors and venture capitalists, with half-hearted ideas. You need to have a solid business plan and a great launch ready. Pitching is all about getting their attention with enough data about your goals, your company's potential, and enthusiasm.

You only get one chance, don't waste it. Be prepared. To answer that novice question on your lips, you can find angel investors through the Funding Post or you can also contact the Angel Capital Association. It is an incredible platform to reach and meet angel investors.

5. Venture Capitalists

Venture capitalists are similar to angel investors, but not quite. Venture capitalists often try to invest in 'slightly more mature companies' and almost always want to say more about managing day-to-day operations.

You can easily apply for an investment from a VC firm, but again, your proposal is crucial! To help you even more, Sequoia, one of the most successful venture capital firms in the world today, suggests that when starting your business, you:

• Explain what has changed. Describe the innovation, industry change, or problem that presents a substantial opportunity for your business.
• Explain what you're doing. In one sentence, show how your company can capitalize on this opportunity.
• Explain the facts. Get quick access to your company's history and finances. Design the opportunity with numbers. Discuss the team and your skills and experience.

Ready to make your dreams come true? Use one of these six methods to raise money for your business, and before you leave, GOOD LUCK!

With the tips below, you can start building a business that is not only a positive part of the larger community, but also fosters a positive community within the company itself.

Start from the inside

Building a community is not just about looking outward, into your broader environment. It's also about looking inward and reflecting on the community you build within your own company, no matter how big or small.

It can be helpful to think about the values and mission of your company in general, and how you can reflect them in your company culture.

For example, your values may be originality, innovation, and self-expression. Think about ways you can promote these values among your staff, for example by scheduling regular creative activities or field trips for your team members.

Another great way to build an additional community within your company is to attend events or training sessions together. You may want to start by researching the certifications or qualifications that are most valued or relevant to your industry and then get down to business.

Not only will you and your staff develop great team values and stronger connections, you will also be better qualified.

This could include donating to local causes, participating in fundraising events, offering internships or work experience for local students, giving encouraging talks or speeches in schools, and more.

For example, during national lockdowns, many companies or educational institutions around the world have put their programs and services completely online.

Especially live streamed lectures, questions and answers and tutorials are popular and can be hosted via websites or social media platforms. This can be a great way to connect with prospects and customers who may be located all over the world, as well as customers who are more local but may have limited mobility.

Attending a wide variety of events, both online and in person, or even hosting them yourself, is a great way to build a strong and supportive community for your business. Not only do you give real knowledge and value to others, you get the same in return.

 Outsource Experts

Building a community starts within your company, branches out to your clients, and can also be who you outsource to! Outsourcing key aspects of your business to experts is a great way to save time, leverage the skills of others, and grow your business organically.

Outsourcing to an expert may mean entrusting your blog to a professional writer with knowledge of search engine optimization, for example of maximizing your opportunities in tendering by hiring a bid writing professional, or by seeking guidance on technical subjects such as GDPR regulations, perhaps.

These are all examples of outsourcing crucial business facets to experts who might have years of valuable experience.

Through outsourcing in this way you can help the community by providing work and building a collective with knowledge and expertise Computer Technology Articles, while giving your business the best chance of success!
